Emotional Freedom Technique, or EFT, is something I became aware of a few years ago while researching the emotional benefits of energy healing for my own practice.

EFT, as described on the founder’s website, is an emotional, needlefree version of acupuncture.  Anyone can learn and use EFT for themselves for a plethora of issues such as:  eating disorders, serious illnesses, pain management, children’s issues,  panic & anxiety, and fears or phobias.

I have been practicing my own version of EFT since I first learned the easy technique (which is a free download below and demonstrated for free on You Tube:  Waking Up with EFT).  (There are thousands of videos featuring EFTon You Tube.) I have witnessed it heal deep emotional scars from sexual abuse and poor parenting to healing the desire to smoke cigarettes.

I believe that EFT can be used to heal ANYTHING because it seems to awaken our higher selves with some kind of direct communication.  Imagine talking to your soul…. that is what EFT feels like when used.

For the last few months, during the psychic readings I give, I’ve been finding myself teaching EFT to my clients where there has been emotional scarring from death or not having the ability to communicate with loved ones, passed or still living.

In my personal experience of emotional healing, I’ve heard my whole life how forgiveness is the key to healing.  Yet, no one had ever explained to me the guts and dynamics of forgiveness.  It seemed that forgiveness somehow was asleep, and was lying outside of myself.  I couldn’t wrap my head around the core concept the way it was explained.  Now let me tell you this:

EFT has the ability to awaken real forgiveness on a soul level inside every person who utilizes it.

The Cons of EFT:
1.  EFT certification, to me, seems a bit redundant.  If anyone can learn it, why spend the money on certification and dvds?  Just send the information along and pass along the healing tool!
2.  EFT practictioners seem to charge quite a bit for something that anyone can learn for themselves.  I don’t see people charging $100 an hour to teach bike riding lessons.  (And EFT is easier than bike riding.)

The Pros:
1.  EFT is free.
2.  EFT is easy.
3.  EFT works.

It is my sincere hope, that you, who are reading this right now, seriously research and use EFT for yourself.

When you make the decision to engage the simple EFT method in your life, remember this blog post and remember to send this to everyone you know who could use some hope, some joy, some healing, and some self love.

EFT gets 5 stars from me!

Coconut oil has been buzzing with controversy for the past couple of years after an unfounded report claimed that coconut oil was high in saturated fat and one should steer clear of it at all costs.  So I have personally put coconut oil to the test, and for the last year I’ve been witnessing people’s use of coconut oil by asking questions and taking notes.

First, let’s get one thing out of the way:  There is no evidence that shows coconut oil clogs arteries according to Sally Fallon, President of the Weston A. Price Foundation (a non-profit nutritional research group).  Fallon co-authored Eat Fat, Lose Fat (Plume 2006).  Although the American Heart Association calls coconut oil a saturated fat, Fallon says different saturated fats have different properties and that coconut oil happens to be one with metabolism boosting properties.

Let’s take a peek at the properties of coconut oil.

  • Antiviral
  • Antifungal
  • Kills yeast
  • Antibacterial
  • Antioxidant
  • Easily Absorbed and Not Stored

For more properties and benefits (and there are tons) I’ll share all my sources of information at the bottom of this review.  With just this handful of benefits, I personally saw reason to look beyond what the American Heart Association (that has recommended margarines since the 50’s) has said about coconut oil.

Gail, a local woman who once weighed over 250 pounds, decided one day that she was going to make some changes in her diet.  She read an article about coconut oil and decided to start experimenting with it.  A year later, and 75 pounds lighter, Gail considers coconut oil to be her *cure-all*.

Upon further research, I found hundreds of people who have done the exact same thing as Gail, and lost weight just by replacing their fat source.

So how did Gail do it?
Gail first started by replacing 1/2 of the fat in the recipe she was baking or cooking, with coconut oil.  For example:  If a cookie recipe calls for a cup of butter or a cup of shortening, Gail replaced half of the butter or shortening with coconut oil.  She now adds coconut oil to almost everything she cooks and rarely uses butter and never uses shortening.

How to Add Coconut Oil to Your Diet

  • Add to tea or coffee for energy or kill viruses
  • Blend in shakes or smoothies
  • Stir into soups
  • Roast vegetables in coconut oil
  • Use on rice or pasta instead of butter
  • Feed to pets for a shiny coat
  • Makes a fabulous massage oil (I personally do this once a week)
  • Add a Tbsp to your bath
  • Use for chapped lips (My kids love this)
  • Use for dry feet (I’m all over this one, too)
  • Use directly to kill candida & ringworm (Both of which I’ve done in the last year)
  • Replace butter and other sources of fats with coconut

Types of Coconut Oil

Now comes the tricky part.  So coconut oil is fabulous!  There are tons of types, kinds, and brands of the Pacific Islander’s “Tree of Life”.  Where does one begin?

I have personally used:
1.  Omega Nutrition 100% Organic Coconut Oil which has no coconut taste or smell.  It is smooth and creamy with no fine grains of coconut.
2.  Mountain Rose Herbs 100% Organic Unrefined Virgin Cold Pressed which smells delicate and incredible.  The moisture content was pretty high and was difficult to bake with, but for regular cooking or skin care use it works great!
3.  Wilderness Family Naturals Certified Organic Coconut Oil, Cold Pressed & Centrifuge Extracted has the delightful smell of #2 but is easily used to bake with as the moisture content is much lower due to the centrifuge process.

Along with my research, I’ve also researched the best places to purchase coconut oil.  I’m all about getting the best quality at the best prices and I know most people are the same.  I personally keep all 3 kinds of coconut oil on hand for different purposes and uses.

I buy the Omega brand at my local health food store for around $10 per 16 oz.

I purchase the Mountain Rose Herbs Coconut Oil directly from Mountain Rose herbs at $37 for a gallon.

And the Wilderness Family Naturals, which I use most often for baking, I REFUSE to buy directly from Wilderness Family Naturals.  (They overprice their own product which is a bit sickening in my opinion and rob you with shipping and handling.
***Instead, I purchase this from Azure Standard at a price that is comparable to Mountain Rose Herbs.  Don’t be afraid to set up an account at Azure Standard and view their prices on other grocery items.  (I will be reviewing their website, service, and products soon.)

So there you have it.  Coconut Oil has enriched my family’s life from fabulous baking to chapped lips.  Coconut oil gets ***** (5) Stars!  ~Wendy

Previously named Inner Voice, Miami’s Here II Here band members came together in January of 2008.  Here II Here boasts some incredible company, such as:  The State Oracle of Tibet, Rev. Michael Beckwith (who appears in The Secret), and Neale Donald Walsch (Conversations with God author).

Upon listening to their free music on their website Here II Here, I was ecstatic.  I was promoting them in my personal circle, promoting them on my Myspace, I was their number one fan and JOYFULLY bought the CD from their website (which is not available from Amazon or anywhere else).

I listened to Holy, (my favorite song of theirs) every morning before my morning meditation!  My 6 yr old daughter was humming Holy in the grocery store, “I Am Holy,” became the tune of our consciousness.

I couldn’t wait for that CD.

A month later, and I wish I were kidding, it arrived.  After spending almost $20 on a CD via paypal, I waited patiently and RAN from my mailbox to my CD changer to listen to every other song anxiously!

After the first song, I thought they had sent me the wrong CD.  I thought I had received a CD of some other band.  It didn’t sound AT ALL like the Here II Here I listened to for free online.  Holy, my favorite ONLINE song, lacks the depth, resonance, and sounds almost childlike on the CD.  I have never listened to it, again.  If anyone wants my copy, I’ll gladly sell mine.  (And I promise you’ll get it before the month time frame.)

One out of five stars for Here II Here.

However, given the low rating, I will still see Here II Here in concert as they schedule a tour of the west coast for this coming spring of ‘09.  I’m really curious what they sound like in person.  The music on the website is incredible….. now if the music they sell would match the music they promote, this rating would be perfect.

3 Positives:
1.  The good songs are free on their website.
2.  Their website is gorgeous and user friendly.
3.  They are doing incredible work and I hope to see a few changes made to boost Here II Here’s integrity.

Negatives…. I’ll refrain.  Ya’ll got the picture.

I have been watching Christopher Witecki since his Special Astro-Edition on 08/08/08.  He captured lots of attention on a spiritual community site and I’ve followed him ever since.

Witecki lends an addictive upbeat attitude with a flare of entertainment to regular, not-so-interesting horoscopes.  He calls himself *your stand-up astrologer*.  What makes Witecki stand out from the average You Tube astrologer, is that he is fun to watch in an intelligent manner.

Witecki offers personal astrology readings as well as his free stand up astrology daily gig.  Something has to pay the bills, right?  Last month, I splurged on an astrology reading with Witecki in disguise as not knowing a darn thing about my birth chart!  He was clear, concise, talked a zillion miles a minute (which is great) and he wasn’t concerned about going over the time allotted.  The reading was incredible, and he did give a forecast for the future of this Virgo-Virgo writing this review!

What a lot of his viewers are not aware of, is that he is one heck of a psychic with a strong intuition in communicating with his guides.  He doesn’t plug this about himself, but rather uses astrology to be his divining light.

Three positives about Soulgarden.tv:
1.  Christopher is smart and has made Soulgarden.tv a smart watch.
2.  The website Soulgarden.tv is simple and beautiful.
3.  There is room for Soulgarden.tv to grow!  I can’t wait to see how Soulgarden.tv journeys into our future!

Three negatives about Soulgarden.tv:
1.  Sometimes the website malfunctions and one must retreat to You Tube to see one’s horoscope.
2.  I would like to see more explanations of what some astrological events, like today’s trine means in more detail.  So maybe some kind of clickable index with explanations would lend a more full experience!
3.  By far, the worst thing about Soulgarden.tv is that it is addictive and I cannot get on my day without my Witecki fix.

Today’s Soulgarden.tv via You Tube Astroweather:

Yes Christopher, we are living, loving, and being!
4 out of 5 stars for Soulgarden.tv
